5. Valle de los Caídos

The Valle de los Caídos, also known as the “Valley of the Fallen” is currently the fifth tallest statue in the world. This statue represents the Catholic basilica located in Madrid, Spain. This cross was built in the name of the Spanish General Francisco Franco to honor and bury those who fell during the Spanish Civil War. This cross stands tall at 108m or 354ft and represents the unique architecture of the Spanish culture.
